Empowering the Future of Carbon Markets
Carbon credits are digital assets representing one tonne of CO₂e avoided, reduced, or removed from our atmosphere. By investing in these credits, market participants provide vital funding for climate projects that deliver measurable environmental impact far beyond their own footprint.
While avoiding and reducing emissions is critical, the next decade belongs to carbon removal. Today, global demand far outstrips capacity, hindered by market fragmentation and a lack of transparency. To meet our global climate goals, we must scale to removing billions of tonnes of CO₂e annually.
BCCX bridges this gap. By facilitating high-integrity collaboration between investors and developers, we provide the infrastructure needed to unlock investment and accelerate carbon removal at scale.

nature-based removal

Use of natural processes to capture and sequester atmospheric carbon dioxide in biological or geological sinks.
- AFFORESTATION / REFORESTATION – remove carbon by using photosynthesis to capture atmospheric CO₂ and store it within growing biomass and forest soils for as long as the ecosystem remains intact.
- BLUE CARBON – removes carbon by restoring and protecting coastal ecosystems like mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrass meadows, which capture CO₂ through photosynthesis and bury it in underwater sediments where the lack of oxygen prevents it from rotting for millennia.
- SOIL CARBON SEQUESTRATION – removes carbon by using regenerative farming practices – like no-till cultivation, cover cropping, and composting – to increase the organic matter in the ground, effectively turning agricultural land into a biological sponge for atmospheric CO₂.

tech-based removal

Use of engineered, mechanical systems to actively capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and permanently store it underground or in long lived products.
- DIRECT AIR CAPTURE (DAC) – uses large-scale fans and chemical reactions to extract CO₂ directly from the ambient air so it can be concentrated and permanently stored underground or used in long-lived products.
- BIOENERGY WITH CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE (BECCS) – achieves negative emissions by harvesting biomass that has absorbed atmospheric CO₂, converting it into energy, and then capturing and permanently burying the resulting emissions underground.
- BIOCHAR – removes carbon by converting short-lived organic waste into a stable, solid form that prevents CO₂ from returning to the atmosphere, effectively “locking” it in the soil for centuries.
- ENHANCED WEATHERING – removes carbon by spreading finely crushed silicate rocks (like basalt) onto land, where they chemically react with rainwater and CO₂ to form stable bicarbonate ions that eventually wash into the ocean and remain stored for thousands of years.
